Water Balloons

A few days before Luke's party, the boys and I got a jump start on filling the water balloons.

Luke and Henry took turns filling them, I tied them, and Maggie-May-I supervised.
When the boys weren't moving fast enough for her she would pop the balloons with her paw and take her turn at the spout.

It was her way of making sure those boys kept up the pace!

It was so hot when we were outside, but we were only allowed to throw the ones with holes in them--sadly it ended up only being one each.

By the time we gave up, we had a ton filled up--probably 75 or so--and my fingers were raw.
I split them up between a couple of buckets because I was afraid that the weight of them would make the bottom ones pop.
There was no way I was going to risk wasting all that hard work!

When I woke up the next morning, they were just as I had left them!

Yay for us!

Sadly, when I went to check on them at dinner time I found this:

 It was so, so sad.

Unless Maggie or Cooper jumped in there, I'm pretty sure the sun was the culprit.

Needless to say, we waited until Thursday night to fill up anymore and even then we floated them in a bunch of cold water!

If I would have known they were all going to pop, I would have at least pegged the boys with a couple of the really big ones!
